FORMING OF STUDENTS’ HEALTH CULTURE DURING CHEMISTRY LESSONS

It is found out, that forming of students’ health culture promotes conducting of chemistry lessons using health saving technologies, optional chemistry classes, writing educational projects by the students about health saving problems, active extracurricular activity of students, and influence of teacher on acquisition of steady interest to conduct a healthy way of life by the students.
Forming of students’ health culture in the process of studying chemistry is regarded as cherishing of such personality qualities which assist the development of sustainable ideas about health as the greatest value, strengthen motivation to conducting a healthy way of life, responsibility for their health and health of relatives, and promote permanent updating and distribution of ecological and valeological knowledge, that provides maintenance and strengthening of health.
Conducted pedagogical experiment gave an opportunity to reveal that most students adhere to the healthy way of life. An anonymous questionnaire testified that 50 % of students get the basic information about the bases of health during health basics lessons, 6–13 % ‒ during biology lessons, 4–18 % ‒ during chemistry lessons of, 15‒25 % ‒ from parents, 12‒20 % ‒ from the Internet. Respondents (90 %) mark that the chemistry teacher worries about the maintenance of students’ health, and the chemistry lessons contain health saving components. It is determined that 68 % of students consider that chemistry knowledge helps to decrease the negative influence of harmful substances on an environment and organism of a man and helps to fix his/her health.
The chemistry knowledge obtained by the students in the establishment of secondary education creates the ground for realistic attitude toward the surrounding world, gives an opportunity to realize the benefit or possible harm of chemical production foods in case of their unwise usage, assists forming of health saving competence of students. Forming of health culture by means of chemistry using modern technologies provides comfort conditions for every student and minimizes the negative factors which could cause harm to their health.

Keywords: health, health culture, health saving technologies, health saving environment, chemistry lesson.
